CORONADO ENGAGEMENT SESSION :: BETHANY + DARREN
It was a sunny day down in Coronado this past Sunday, my face still has the sunburn to prove it. My intern Amanda and I met Bethany and Darren for their engagement shoot along the San Diego Bay and then we headed over to the Hotel Del Coronado for some beach shots. I’ve know Bethany since High School and I’m very excited to shoot their wedding in La Jolla next year. Here were some quick favorites from the day . . .
Here are some pics from my awesome intern, Amanda Andrzejewski. Don’t ask me how to pronounce her last name, I just like that’s is just as long as mine. First grade spelling sucked for us! Anyways she’s starting up her own photography business (Be Mine Photography) and helping me out on a few shoots.
BALBOA PARK LIFESTYLE PORTRAITS :: VLADA + TUCKER
High School sweethearts are always my favorite couples to shoot. Maybe it’s because I married my high school sweetheart, or maybe it’s just because they’re always so comfortable with eachother that their love just shines in their images. I was blessed this past week to shoot Vlada and Tucker who are celebrating 5 years together. I’ve worked with Vlada on a few projects in the past. She had volunteered to help me build my couples portfolio which I really appreciated. What I didn’t realize was that this was their first time in 5 years getting to do a couples shoot and that it meant just as much if not more for them. We decided to shoot at Balboa Park because their are just so many different locations that would give us a variety of looks. WINDANSEA ENGAGEMENT SHOOT :: SERENA + JUSTIN
I worked with Serena at Jamba Juice almost 10 years ago. I had some great memories, such a fun job! Now we’re all grown up and I can’t wait to shoot Serena’s wedding in Eastlake (our hometown) next month. As soon as she told me that Justin was a Chiefs fan I knew she was in good hands! We went down to Windansea for their engagement shoot, it was a beautiful day and we had fun shooting along the shoreline. Serean + Justin, thank you so much for allowing me to shoot your upcoming wedding! I can’t wait!

ADMIRAL BAKER / KENSINGTON ENGAGEMENT SHOOT :: VITA + MARC
I am so excited to shoot Vita and Marc’s wedding this September. We had a great engagement shoot last week as they let me into their world and I got to experience some of the things and places that mean so much to this beautiful couple. We started on the golf course and ended shooting along the streets of Kensington. Vita nearly killed me on the golf course and almost took Marc out by exposing him to a variety of diseases on an abandoned couch in an alley. Vita and Marc, thanks again for allowing me to capture the memories of your upcoming wedding!

CORONADO ENGAGEMENT SHOOT :: ILIMA + DAVID
This past weekend I got to spend time with Ilima and David in Coronado to shoot their engagement photos. It was fun getting to know this couple and I’m really looking forward to shooting their wedding in August. The day was perfect, we had some nice clouds out to block the sun for the most part and were able to shoot on both the bay side and the beach which worked out great.

CORONADO BEACH PHOTOGRAPHER :: KRYSTLE
It was a cloudy day at the Hotel Del Coronado. I was hoping it wouldn’t rain, but that the clouds would stay, as I love having clouds in the background. Hayden and I had a lot of fun shooting Krystle and her beautiful family. Hayden did a great job as a second shooter, he made everyone smile! He’s the best 2 year old in the business! He even played with the kids knowing that he was really just trying to buy some time for the parents to get some pictures of themselves. We all survived the wind and cold and came up with some great photographs. Krystle – your family is beautiful, I’m glad we were able to take some pictures for your family to treasure!

ENGAGEMENT SHOOT :: MATT + DANIELLE
“Matty and I’s first kiss, wow, that was awhile ago! We had Psychology class together, and Matt had been checking me out since school started that year! It just so happened that he needed a ride home one day, and I conveniently had the means. We got to his apartment and it took everything I had not to kiss him immediately, so we watched TV for about five minutes. Matty’s line got me, “Wanna come see my rock collection?”. I sure did! When we kissed it was so amazing. It was something we wanted to do for a long time. I fell for him. And, of course, he fell for me!” – Danielle
Most couples take their engagement photos before their wedding. However, Matt and Danielle we’re so busy planning their Indiana wedding from San Diego they were just unable to find the time to fit it in. Anyways, we decided to do a post wedding engagement shoot last weekend down at Otay Lakes.
MINI SESSION :: MARI
I have worked with Mari for close to a year and a half, and that’s close to the amount of time it’s taken us to finally work out a date to take her family portraits she’d been wanting to do for so long. Mari brought her family down this past Friday for a quick mini-session.
WINDANSEA PHOTOGRAPHY :: MINI SESSIONS
This past Friday I did a test run with a new mini session package I am going to start offering. These will be 30 minute sessions that will include 25 shots at a lower rate. I went out to Windansea beach on friday afternoon and took some photographs of the Guiterrez Family. Everett and Reina had the cutest kids, Cailin and Ezekiel. I had a great time shooting them.

WINDANSEA PHOTOGRAPHER :: JESSE, KATIE, JACKSON (+HAYDEN)
My brother and his family were in town a couple of weeks ago. We took some family shots at Windansea before letting Jackson and Hayden terrorize seagulls and play in the Ocean. The playing lasted about 5 minutes before both were crying and ready to go home. Hayden still complains that I let him get sand in his butt.
THE ROCK CHURCH SAN DIEGO :: MILITARY FAMILY PORTRAITS
I had missed a few Military portraits lately, one being watching my beloved KC Chiefs take down the Chargers on Monday Night Football a couple weeks back. Needless to say I was excited to get back to shooting these. Thankfully Ron, Sabrina, and Bailey were not Charger fans so we didn’t have any conflicts there. Once again I am blessed to serve those who serve.
San Diego Beach Photographer :: Alycia and Micah VanDover
I had the pleasure of meeting up with Alycia and Micah at Windansea Beach in La Jolla for a photoshoot yesterday. Some good friends of their’s had pitched in for the photoshoot at an auction a while back raising money to send someone with a team to Haiti to help serve the people down there. Alycia and Micah are newlyweds who just got back from their honeymoon and are moving to the lovely state of Hawaii in a few days. The weather at the beach was amazing yesterday, we had some beautiful clouds blocking the sun for a while giving us some great light to work with.
Alycia and Micah – I had a great time spending yesterday afternoon capturing some memories of San Diego for you before you leave. I wish you the best as you take this next step in your lives!
